How do you know when it's time to replace those Test Leads?

Test leads are more than a means to connect your digital multimeter to the unit under test. They are an integral part of the complete measurement system. Worn out or under-rated test leads can cause inaccurate readings and pose a serious shock or electrocution hazard if live wires are read as being de-energized.

Avoid these risks by inspecting your test leads.

Check for cracked or nicked insulation. Look for gaps and cracks at the junction between the insulated wire and banana plugs or probes. And if you see any of these signs, it may be time for new test leads!
