Currently headquartered in Royal Oak, MI, Ram Meter Inc. has been doing business for over 90 years. It all started in 1936 on a dining room table in northwest Detroit when Russel A. Monnier (R.A.M.) began repairing electrical indicating instruments for United Motors Service, his employer at that time. It wasn’t long before he quit his job to dedicate himself to repairing these instruments full time. Russ named the business Ram Meter Service and it has continued to grow ever since.
In 1962, Ram Meter Inc. became one of the first panel meter “Mod Centers”, a concept where we bought blank meters in volume from the factory and modified them to the exact specifications of the customer. To this day, we continue to offer that service and can modify analog and digital panel meters with non-standard scaling, company logo’s, special calibrations, color bands and just about anything else to help fit your application.
Ram Meter Inc. also provides contract manufacturing services. We manufacture cable assemblies and build circuit boards and many other electro-mechanical products. We will build to your design or work with you and engineer the product to fit your application.
Today we stock and distribute many different types of products including analog and digital panel meters, digital multimeters, clamp-on meters, calibrators, insulation testers, power quality meters, infrared thermal imagers, limit switches, VRS speed sensors, current transformers, current shunts and many more. We distribute internationally recognized product lines including AEMC Instruments, Amprobe Instruments, ATC – Automatic Timing & Controls, Crompton Instruments, Extech Instruments, Fluke Electronics, Honeywell, Jaquet, Laurel, Megger, Red Lion Controls, Simpson Electric, Veris Industries, Yokogawa and many others.
We are also an NIST traceable calibration and repair service facility which means we are able to service and calibrate the many types of products we sell.
