The demand for electric vehicles continues to increase rapidly. This has caused a ground swell of installations of new EV charging stations for public use across the country. Chargers need to go through routine inspections. These inspections help to assess their safety and alert the inspector if maintenance needs to be performed. Megger EVCC300 Electric Vehicle Charger Checker

The new EVCC300 introduces a new and convenient way of checking Electric Vehicle charge points. A simple all in one concept provides an easy to use solution to check both the safety and operation of level 1 and two phase level 2 EV chargers. The instrument is ideal for those wishing to perform a check on an EV charger following manufacture, installation or repair, or just part of a maintenance schedule / inspection.

Features:

  • Four important safety checks: PE touch pad, RPE test, Touch voltage test, and RCD / GFCI protection check
  • Nuisance charger supply tripping check. This test will help determine whether the EV charger user is likely to experience nuisance tripping of the RCD or GFCI.
  • The EVCC300 slowly increases ground / earth leakage current until the protective device trips to ensure it trips at the correct leakage current level. If the leakage current that trips the device is too low it will indicate either an issue with the device or there is already a high level of leakage present.
  • Four key EV charger operation checks: Proximity detection operation check, Control pilot operation check, Control pilot signal check, and EV charger output check

Megger BITE5 Battery Tester

The BITE5 is a battery tester that will test lead acid batteries, NiCD batteries as well as lithium-ion batteries. The BITE5 will measure and record battery voltage, impedance, and temperature. The BITE5 also supports discharge testing. It will measure the voltage and current throughout the discharge cycle. The BITE5 can also measure the impedance and temperature throughout the discharge cycle.

Battery impedance testing

The BITE5 will measure cell impedance, cell voltage, and temperature. The recorded data can be trended on the unit’s touch screen. View the trended data of each test or trend the data of each cell. Set pass, warning, and fail limits for voltage and impedance. Record the ripple voltage, ripple current, and float current and transfer the recorded data via USB or via an SD card to the PowerDB software, then create custom reports and automated analysis.

Battery discharge testing

The BITE5 will record voltage, DC current, impedance, and temperature of each cell throughout the entire discharge test. Measure the average impedance at the end of the commissioning test and use this as a limit for future impedance tests. Trend the recorded data on the BITE5 touch screen and view the trended data of each test, or trend the discharge of each cell. Transfer the recorded data via USB or via an SD card to the PowerDB software, then create custom reports.
